Where did the name Romeo’s Sensation come from?
Romeo’s Sensation LLC grew out of my first company, Romeo’s Healthier Alternative. At the time, I found that my own name, Romel, was often mispronounced or compared to a German Field Marshal named Erwin Rommel, aka the Desert Fox, which carried connotations I did not want associated with my work. Choosing “Romeo” was both practical and symbolic—it offered a recognizable and approachable name while allowing me to preserve a personal connection to my identity. The shift also created continuity between my first business and the work I envisioned moving forward, while setting the stage for a name that better reflected the depth and nuance of what I wanted to offer.
The word “Sensation” was chosen with intention. The story of Romeo and Juliet is one of intensity, vulnerability, and the wide range of emotions and experiences that make us human. In that same spirit, “Sensation” speaks to the complexity of our inner worlds—the feelings, desires, and lived experiences that shape who we are. Romeo’s Sensation LLC is therefore more than a name; it represents a commitment to honoring the full spectrum of the human condition, creating spaces where people can explore themselves more deeply, and cultivating opportunities for authentic healing, growth, and connection.
How do I access my patient portal?
A personal Patient portal link is sent to each patient via email, search your email for “simple practice” and click on the patient portal link. *even if it is an old link, you can click on it and Simple Practice will send a new one* If you are unable to find the link in your email, contact your therapist or admin and they can help you out.
How long are the sessions?
Typically, sessions can be between 25 and 55 minutes. Sometimes we can schedule longer sessions if the need arises.
Do you offer an initial consultation?
Yes, we offer an initial consultation. Our consultations are not covered by insurance and are between 20 and 30 minutes. The fee is $80 for the consultation, and this is a discussion to explore the general direction and services that Romeo’s Sensation LLC offers. Consultations are not therapy, and no therapy is provided during this meeting.
Can I cancel my subscription early?
If the Basic Subscription plan is canceled before the 3-month minimum, or if the 6-Month Subscription plan is canceled before completion, all completed sessions will revert to the standard out-of-pocket rate of $150 per (50) minute session for individuals and $175 per (50) minute session for couples/family therapy, and an administration fee of $65 will be incurred. If there are unused sessions within the month at the time of cancellation, the used sessions will also revert to the original per-session fee. Any remaining balance will be the responsibility of the client.
Upon cancellation or completion of your subscription agreement after the 3-month minimum/ 6-month commitment, your account will convert to regular billing of $150 per (50) minute session for individuals and $175 per (50) minute session for couples/family therapy.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Romel is licensed in Colombia, Florida, and Maryland. Romel’s license number in Florida is SW16753 and 23565 in Maryland.
What if I am traveling?
If you have any plans to travel outside of the state or the country, please notify us within 2 weeks of your travel plans. Keep in mind that our licenses are linked to the various states we are licensed in and, therefore, cannot provide therapy in every state. Some states have very strict laws, while others are more lax. Keeping that in mind, it would be illegal for us to practice in states where we are not licensed without first checking with or registering in that state.
If you are traveling internationally, this same requirement applies; however, we may need more time to coordinate with the countries and our legal team regarding international laws and ethics.
What is your cancellation policy?
48 hours ahead of time to avoid any fees. Our current policy is that any late cancellations or no-shows will incur a fee up to the full cost of the session.
